Dr Amanda Parkes PhD is a fashion scientist with over 15 years of experience in wearable technology, interaction design, smart materials, and fashion innovation. The former Chief of Technology and Research at Manufacture NY, Amanda holds a Ph.D & M.S. in Tangible Media from the MIT Media Lab, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford.

Amanda is an international speaker & lecturer, working with TED, DLD, SXSW, the NY Times International Luxury Conference, and the World Economic Forum. Amanda has been written about in such esteemed publications as the Business of Fashion, Vanity Fair, and Alleywatch.
